SUBMERSIBLE BOREHOLE MOTORS > MERCURY |
The Mercury submersible motor range is the result of years of design and operating experience giving a product free of inherent weaknesses & problems.
In order to guarantee long bearing life and provides excellent support to the rotor the motor is fitted with two pairs of highly rated bi-directional-thrust journal bearings.
The "standard" motor version is suitable for clean water with a pH of 6.5 to 7.5. For more aggressive water ( pH ranges 3.0 to 9.0 ) AISI 316 stainless steel and Zinc free bronze versions are readily available but Monel and AISI 904L stainless steel versions can also be offered if required. Equally, special shaft seals can be fitted for arduous applications.
The Mercury submersible motor is of the "wet type" and can, therefore, be easily re-wound. The water contained within the motor not only provides cooling and lubrication but also inhibits corrosion. Any variation in water volume within the motor during operation is totally compensated by the diaphragm whereas a non-return valve will release excess water and air at start-up. Motors are filled from the bottom to ensure air is expelled from all areas of the windings and internal cavities.
No special electrical protection needs to be installed as Mercury motors can support temporary overloads - a conventional over-current / short circuit protection device is recommended though.
The advanced design and manufacturing technology embodied, together with rigid Quality Assurance, guarantees high reliability and a long motor life.
