Dewatering Pumps

E-Tech pumps have proved eminently suitable for dewatering in a range of arduous U.K. and overseas situations. Their robust construction has gained them an enviable reputation for operation in ‘difficult’ boreholes since they were introduced to the market fifteen years ago.

In recent years pressure on urban space, restrictions on the use of rural & green-belt land and similar factors have necessitated more and more new projects to be constructed below ground level in, or through, water-bearing strata. To facilitate this, each area has to be de-watered before excavations begin in order to create a dry and safe working environment.

Some of the projects we have supplied:

Proquip

Proquip

Stratford ‘Box’

The client for the contract is Union Railways (North) Ltd. with Rail Link Engineering acting as Project Managers. Skanska Construction UK Limited were awarded the contract for the main ‘Box’ (CTRL Contract 230) in January 2001 and they sub-contracted the boreholes to Drilcorp Ltd who chose 6” ‘E-Tech’ pumps & ‘Mercury’ motors from Proquip Direct Limited to perform the vital task of de-watering. A total of 22 Etech pump were supplied and have been in operation since 2004 with no failures.

Victoria Square

Project Dewatering Limited drilled 24 deep wells to 40m below ground level within the cofferdam and installed an E-Tech Nauti submersible pump in each - coupled to a common collection main around the perimeter. This dewatering operation ran successfully between December 2003 and April 2007.

Belfast Sewer Project

E-Tech Nauti pumps have also been utilised in successful dewatering on the Belfast Sewer Project which involved extensive tunnelling from 28 shafts. Project Dewatering Limited undertook dewatering design and installation at various locations with wells up to 60m depth – again using Nauti pumps which have proved to be robust and reliable in variable conditions.

Cog Moor Treatment Works

E-Tech VS 60/3 submersible borehole pumps have also been used successfully for dewatering two F.S.T. tanks at Cog Moor Treatment Works in Barry where high fissure flow in the Coal Measures has been dewatered using thirteen deep wells around the cofferdam perimeter. Here, Project Dewatering Limited’s E-Tech pumping system yields up to 600m3/h enabling groundwork as much as 8m deep to be undertaken in dry and stable conditions.
